Because my dog (not the one pictured here) is a bundle of energy, I became quite the snowshoe-er last winter. Oddly enough this is exactly how I dress during my usual 'shoeing outings...wink wink. At this point in the winter the shoes are actually pretty useless as we don't have enough snow yet but I thought it would be fun to take some pictures with them anyway. They make it about 1000 times easier to go for a walk through the field when numerous feet of snow piles up.
Also the mittens weren't supposed to be part of this outfit but when I picked up the snowshoes the metal was so cold my fingers stuck to it and burned...needless to say function won over fashion in this case...

Ah, these photos are so pretty! I can't get over how cold it looks there! And I haven't been on snowshoes since I was little and we went to Maine in winter. I'd forgotten all about it!

We bought my mother snow shoes a few winters ago as we are from snowy upstate New York...sadly, I don't think she has used them more than once. I should send her this pictures so she knows how adorable snowshoeing can be! Seriously, these are like pictures out of a snowshoeing magazine, if only there was such a thing....is there such a thing?
