Swampwater

I can't even express how happy I am that I can freely walk around without snow up to my eyeballs. Plus spring melting means we have a little creek behind our house! Every spring when the creek is running I have to leave my window open at night no matter how cold it is just so I can hear it. It's a bit of a novelty for me! It will disappear until next year soon enough so I have to soak it in.

This dress is every big-boobed girls challenge. Strapless. I end up wearing a normal bra and throwing on a cardigan in order to keep everything in order. If you know what I mean. But I found folding the top down and wearing it as a skirt lets me get some more wear out of it! Luckily I had a belt that is the same colour so I could add a waist to it because it looked a little odd without it.

Mills on Hills

So the manfriend is obsessed with these windmills. Anytime we head down south we end up searching for some to get up close to. They are pretty impressive when you're standing under them. I mean they are massive. Our travels home were no different and we had to detour to some 'mills on hills'.

For the weekend I packed two outfits. This one is pretty much exactly what I wore to Drumheller but different dress. My other outfit was a canadian tuxedo to wear around the fire. Oddly enough I didn't get a picture of that.... strange..... I have since then realized I have worn this belt for the last million posts (or so it feels) and I didn't even notice! I just love the belt so much. I promise I'll give it a rest for awhile though.

Drumheller

It may look like my weekend road trip took me FAR FAR away from my usual snowscapes but I only travelled a few hours from my house to this barren land called Drumheller. Even though I have lived here my whole life, I have never visited the Alberta Badlands. It was like traveling to a whole different country... I really liked just climbing around! Even if I probably flashed the people climbing lower than me. I actually went to a friends housewarming party but since we were so close we took a little detour. Next time I will have to go to the Dino museum. It looked really cool but was swarming with children.

Before I left I went on a little shopping date with Vickie from Adventures in Fashion and Jenna from Smitten. It was a fun to hang out with some fellow Edmonton bloggers. I ended up buying this dress from Forever 21. First time I have ever bought anything from there. It was perfect for the balmy sunshine-y weather I haven't experienced in months!

Also... Hello to my new followers. I've had the biggest climb in follower this last week since I've been on a little hiatus. Maybe I should disappear more often ;) .....

Oh... and I bought this film camera for $35 last week! Can't wait to get some pic's developed from it!

Small Town Life

If you live in a small town any event is an event worth seeing. This is the outfit I wore to a wedding I attended this weekend in my town. I saw a friend of mine at the pub in town and she said she was here for a wedding and that I should tag along. It was kinda awkward as there were only about 25 to 30 people so I couldn't blend into the background unnoticed. "Who is this girl eating our food?". Ahh.. small town life. Anyway, this is a small post as I don't have a lot of spare time this week. This may lead to some cricket noises coming from the ol' blog. I'm heading down to Calgary this weekend for a friends housewarming party so I will have some fun pictures that I hope to take along the way next week!

So Many Watches, So Little Time

My grass islands are growing!!! I'm so excited about this. I have been doing some spring cleaning and I actually forgot I had this dress. It is super uncomfortably low so I keep double-y covered with a cardigan and a scarf. Thanks for all the birthday wishes! It was a fun one!

What's My Age Again?

Well guys... I turned a whole year older on Sunday. I originally wasn't going to do anything because most of my friends don't live in the same city as me anymore but people kept coming out of the woodwork wanting to hang out with me! One thing lead to another and I suddenly had places to be. First, I went to the birthday of another friend (the lovely lady on the right in that first pictures). Burt Reynolds were had by all. Which is half and half with captain morgan's and butterscotch schnapps. Mmmmmm. Later on we went to see my friend's band play and heckle him a bit. Let me tell you that trying to get camera settings right -- at night -- indoors -- while drinking -- is a difficult task! So the pictures are slightly blurry much like my night...

AND I won the Leyna Lightman necklace giveaway from Vickie of Adventures In Fashion . First giveaway I have ever won and it's on my birthday! So random!

Safety City

I was gonna go for an elongated bob yesterday but I chickened out. I did however even out the hair and added some bangs so it actually looks like a style instead of a mass of untamed hair! Onto the dress! I thrifted this a few weeks ago and it was mid-calf length. While I like the longer style, I thought it was a bit much with the busy print, buttons, long sleeves, and attached belt so I hemmed it up. It's a silky material which is soooo comfy but very slippy. Big boobs + slippy material = automatic unbuttoning. So I used the extra material I hemmed off to create a flap all the way down the inside of the buttons. I added a hook and eye between the buttons mid-boob too. I really don't want the girls escaping! Allow me to demonstrate what happens if my buttons undo... Safety City!!
