Red Riding Hood

The weather was cooperating this morning and I was so excited to get out in my coat that I left bright and early! So I packed my bag up and grabbed one of my dogs and set out for the woods. Remind me to wear pants next time I walk through the fields as my knees were demolished by the crop! I think I also got a pretty intense work out lugging that coat around, it is soooo heavy and warm. I was sweating like crazy in it but it was worth it!

A Girl Can Dream

I ran across this label on the web and I love the fall styles. She's Canadian, which is nice! I just like how simple the styles are but still really interesting. Unfortunately they are a little out of my price range when I checked the website of the store that carries them nearest to me. Oh well...A girl can dream!

Warm Woolies

I finally have another day off. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are my weekends, as I usually work Thursday to Monday. I was quite disappointed today when I woke up because we've had gorgeous weather the last few days and I was planning on walking to a nearby forest and taking some pictures with my amazing coat but when I woke up this morning it was pouring rain. After working all week I really wanted to dress up and take some bright fall pictures so I thought I'd take put my woolies and take some not so bright, very rainy pictures anyway! As the pictures go on my hair gets worse and worse from the rain. It was also difficult to tie an umbrella to my tripod for my camera. None the less a good excuse to get out on a rainy day!

I probably shouldn't break up my legs so much with layers when they are short in the first place but I like the style too much to care! Hopefully tomorrow I will have more luck with the weather. I have to go do chores now. Yes, I'm 23 and still live with my mom and yes, she still gives me chores to do. Don't judge me!!

Ruffles!

I spent a few hours this morning turning my dress into my new shirt. Obviously I shortened it, took out the shoulder pads, and shortened/tightened up the sleeves. I have enough left over for a skirt and some other knick knacks. I try to use up every scrape! I also made the headband when I found a big bag of feathers at the second hand store.

I wish I could have worn this outfit all day but work has got in the way. I guess I still get to wear my jeans...yay (said VERY sarcastically!). This is also my first picture attempts with my new tripod, no more stacking stools on chairs on the firewood pile! haha

Buttoned

I am getting ready to go back to work tomorrow after a week and a half off. Which was awesome! I wish I could retire now instead of all that pesky working. I'm on the fence about whether or not this is a dress or a shirt. I bought it at my friend's mom's shop. It's brand is Button, although I'd never heard of them before. On me it is long enough to be a dress, but it just doesn't seem like it was meant to be one. I do adore the pattern though.

I bought a tri pod too! yahoo!

I Just Can't Help Myself!

I couldn't help but stop in at the thrift store while I was passing yesterday. I rarely ever leave without something and yesterday was no different. Could you tell I was feeling some fall inspiration? The dress is what I am most excited about. It's hard to tell from that picture ( don't worry, you'll be seeing more of it!) but it has an amazing ruffle collar. Of course it was way to long for me! I was contemplating turning it into a shorter dress but then I may go that much further and make it a top. My wardrobe is missing interesting tops that can dress up some jeans. I'm also going to change the sleeves. I'm thinking 3/4 length and tight instead of the baggy look.

I may also have enough of the bottom left over for a skirt!

September Sickness

glasses / skirt / shoes / coat
I am in love with this coat. It's so simple. It's convincing me to like asymmetrical, I'm more of an symmetrical type person. Unfortunately this is sold out. I guess I waited to long thinking about buying it. Maybe when they get more I'll dress it up with these other beautiful finds! Including those glasses. Personally, I love wearing my glasses. I'd like to get my hands on some cat eyes like those.

So yesterday I got a cold and it has not let up. I haven't really felt like getting out of my pajamas, let alone getting dressed up to take some outfit pics. Tomorrow I am actually going out of town though, which I haven't done all summer, so I'll be sure to grab some pics here and there!

On the upside to being sick I have gotten alot of use outta these beauties below! I am all about knee-highs this fall and wooly knee-highs are just a must here. ( it's going to be -10 C tonight AND snowflakes were falling this afternoon...) I envision myself wearing my woolies with some tights and leather boots. I actually don't own a pair of high boots to my dismay because I have fat calfs and I just cant find any that will fit! But I will never give up my search.

(the first boots always make me think of Drew Barrymore in The Wedding Singer)

The Deets

Well, I put together this outfit thinking that because I like every piece individually it'd be awesome. I'm not sue if it was just one of those days but I did not like any pictures of it!! I guess you win some, you lose some. I thought I'd shoot some of the details I like since the whole thing was just not working for me. Hopefully tomorrow will be more successful.

What I would wear...

necklace / purse / shoes / dress / tights

While out at a thrift store the other day I found the most perfect winter coat. It is in perfect condition and only cost $10! I actually left it at the store for a day to think about whether or not I really needed it. I decided the next day I did, for sure! Below is a sneak peak of it. The classic photo in the mirror. I want to wait until the leaves change colour a bit more or when it decides to snow to get a real outdoorsy picture of it. Ever buy anything you just love so much you cant stop looking at it? haha. Above is a hypothetical outfit that I would wear with my maxi coat when it gets nice and cold. Which is only a matter of days here...

Work Clothes

This is a typical work outfit for me. I have to wear jeans, steel-toed shoes, and a gross blue collared shirt so I try to be slightly unique before hand and change into my generic shirt when I get there. This vest is one of my favourite things for fall. I bought it at a thrift store for 99 cents. It was probably some old mans but I love it. I think I need to invest in a tri-pod. There are only so many things that can be used as one out in the wild. I crudely tied my camera to the side of a tree for the above shot and used a fence posts for the other.  I'm still trying to sort out my photo sizing. It shouldn't be this difficult for me!

(sorry about the down the shirt shot. I didn't realize the girls were out and about like that!)
