Summery Blooms
And now it's time for finding new hobbies part 3! Actually I just tried making some floral arrangements from the lovely flowers that are in bloom outside. Top one is for our living room -- bottom is for the kitchen table. We obviously have a bit of an obsession white vases (the bottom one is just a vase set inside a fruit bowl). Have a good long weekend everyone. I'll be working all weekend long :(.

Suitcase -- Before and After
Hello! Remember me? I know it's been awhile. I've been quite busy in real life as of late. I'm still unsure when I'll actually be back to blogging for realzies but I though I'd pop by with a before and after I did today. Before I get to that heres an update on what I've been up to (in case you actually wanted to know! haha) I have been working like crazy as usual but I've got another job! I'll be designing kitchens now. I haven't started yet but I'm a little excited. Some relationship changes happened (I wont bore everyone with that) for the better and I'm having so much fun and am so happy right now! YAY for changes!
Onto the before and after. I have quite the collection of suitcases that I find and mean to fix up but don't get to do it as much as I'd like. This one was pretty damaged on the bottom of the inside so I had to re-make the lining for it as well as the joining middle-piece. I painted a owl on the front for fun! Oh and the inspiration for my owl came from here.

Christmas Presents!
When I found this DIY I knew it would be perfect to do for my Christmas presents. I started searching for tins that would fit each of my friends individual style. It was actually pretty fun to make a mini theme for each friend and hunt down tins that went with it. Here are the three I have finished so far...still have a few more to go. For Jenn I picked a "World Traveller" theme, Jess got an "Elegant Vintage" theme, and Shawnee got a bit of a "Silly" theme because growing up we were so random together and I'm sure a mixed nuts joke is going to rear its head. I did kind of break the mold for her as I found a pashmina that I thought she would like in a really nice plum colour. Anyways, here are my creations... (inside all the tins are candles)

Canadian Tuxedo
So this is a mini sunday post. I'm working today so on come the jeans! I kinda just wanted to show off a freshly painted suitcase! I love spray paint. It's pretty simple paint job but reminds me of a bowling ball bag! I had to cut this mini shoot even shorter because I did it in my yard...which means being accosted by a multitude of animals. When you live in the country animals like to wander to house and not leave! So while I was attempting to take pictures there were cats wandering in view, dogs trying to sit on me, and kittens climbing the tripod! I had to give up...

I Just Can't Help Myself!
I couldn't help but stop in at the thrift store while I was passing yesterday. I rarely ever leave without something and yesterday was no different. Could you tell I was feeling some fall inspiration? The dress is what I am most excited about. It's hard to tell from that picture ( don't worry, you'll be seeing more of it!) but it has an amazing ruffle collar. Of course it was way to long for me! I was contemplating turning it into a shorter dress but then I may go that much further and make it a top. My wardrobe is missing interesting tops that can dress up some jeans. I'm also going to change the sleeves. I'm thinking 3/4 length and tight instead of the baggy look.
I may also have enough of the bottom left over for a skirt!

Brighter Than Sunshine
I have taken up a bit of a random hobby. Suitcase re-furbishing. This was the first one I did, it was my grandmothers and in kinda rough shape. I'm thinking about selling them but I'm afraid the costs of shipping would start to get to high! Maybe once my collection gets to big I will have to sell some off. I've only got around 10 now. I took some outfits posts earlier today but I don't have enough time before work to get them edited and up. Anyway! here is my first suitcase. (when I'm not traveling with it, it holds my hats)
Before.
After.
