Outtakes (In All Forms)

Due to my current tundra-like weather conditions and my camera's inability to take indoor photos, I thought I'd dig up some out-takes...some unedited, weird-faced Shy-ness. I go through a range of emotions here: annoyance, anger, shock, content. Some emotions are unexplainable (ie: the last one?!). Plus I like to remind myself that it is warm here sometimes with some green photos!

On another note: Other than my addiction to Tower Defense during my collage days, I don't participate in the games and stuff on Facebook. Facebook is strictly for creepin on other people and posting pictures of my animals. I did, however, try out this Year in Status thingy and reliving my statuses made me laugh! I thought I'd share a few of my fav's from 2010. A lot involved Tom Sellock's mustache so I'll try to sift through those ones...

January: "Pants Schmants"
February: "Procrastilaxin'"

March: "I'm wearing a visor...I'm not sure how I feel about that"
April: "Disappointed that the package in the mail was my diploma, not the clothes I bought online"

May: "Hold me closer, Tony Danza"
June: "I'm watching Tom Sellock's Mustache"

July: "John Malkovich frightens me."
August: "I run a tight ship."

September: "Mom, I just puked on the lawn. Just so you know."
October: "got a good stare goin on."

November: "NUTS! I missed the coronation street documentary."
December: "I'd like to kick rush hour traffic in the eye."

Snow Day

Your eyes aren't deceiving you. No trick photography was used. The snow against our dining room doors is that high. There was once a deck beyond that door. You can see the remains of a railing. We're almost at waist high snow here, people!! It snowed a good foot last night and there expecting the same tonight. I was awoken to the sound of my phone going off with my manager telling me not to come in. I actually couldn't anyway. Somewhere in the driveway that is now M.I.A my car is parked. Buried alive. Poor little guy. Forgive me if I don't get out and get some outfit posts for a little bit. We have to dig our way out and it may take me awhile! (By the way, in true snow day fashion I am still in my pajamas. Hence the camera-shy-ness.)

So I leave you with a little video. I realize I am not winning an academy award for this one but it was a fun little experiment. When I buy a new camera (hopefully soon) I will try to make some decent videos. These are clips from our drive to Canmore. After about 4 hours you get a little bored in the car. At the very least you can listen to a good song if you watch it...

First, Second, and Third Helpings!

First things first: Amanda from The Upside of Wonder made a little chat room last night and I got to chat with some awesome bloggers!! It was a bit of a throw-back to my 13 year old self. I say we have a girls night drop in to hang out online because it was so much fun. I'd love to chat with some of my other favourites out there.

Second things second: I could not find anywhere good to take outfit shots. The driveway was annoying me, my toes were too cold to walk anywhere through the snow, and I was generally fussy about everywhere I went. This brings us to the garage door and my "oh well" face. All I wanted to do was show off my lovely new coat! Is that so much to ask!? My mom...I mean Santa... gave it to me for Christmas and I love how marching-band-y it is. This is actually the outfit I wore to our Christmas dinner (so I'm only 2 weeks behind)...

Third things third: One of my moms friends was getting rid of her old-standing-jewelry-dresser-thingy. She gave it to me FULLY STOCKED. She just left everything she didn't want it. I've only dived into the ring area so far!

Lurking in my purse...

Big Purses and I have a love/hate relationship. I love how much stuff I can get in them; I hate how long it takes to find anything. After I had enough of rummaging around my large purse last night, I decided it was time for a downsize. Of course I snapped a pic while I was cleaning it out and then got carried away with photoshop...again...

If only the sun could get higher...

So glad to be back to my regularly scheduled programming. Over the holidays I managed to add a cape to my wardrobe! I found it on my trip to Canmore for only $20! I've been looking for one for ages but they are always out of my price range so I was rather excited when I saw it and couldn't wait to get out in it. When I got back from taking these pictures I looked a mess. I ripped my tights, my legs were numb, cape was all caught up under my tripod bag and I was sweating and freezing at the same time. The picture of beauty!

Last night the manfriend and I were talking about getting a video of my meandering from up high with the quad-copter. I showed him the WishWishWish videos  for inspiration. I think we will wait until there is colour in the world again. Endless white is not really that interesting. Hopefully 2011 will hold some cool and creative things for Chesterfield. By the way, check out my About and FAQ section I just added and let me know what you think!

Bird's Eye View

I hope everyone had a fun-filled New Year's Eve like me - sipping wine spritzers while watching Inception for the third time! I actually fell asleep long before midnight. Oh well!

I've finally got some "robot" pictures to show you! The manfriend likes to build planes and helicopters (among a ton of other things). Lately he had been building a tri-copter but when that wasn't working as he wanted it he splurged and bought a quad-copter. He added his fisheye camera and now we have some aeriel photos of my outfits! Just what everyone needed! Usually he uses the camera on the planes to take HD video along rivers, fields, cliffs, etc. Anyways this is our first go at it and it was weird to take pictures with someone else involved. Half way through I said, "I dont know what to do...I'll just lean against this tree all nonchalantly!" We will have to keep practicing as you can't really see the outfit too much. Four sets of spinning blades of death are unsettling for close ups...
