Running Away

I've been on a self-imposed clothing purchasing ban. I did go into to the thrift store the other day though to find some yoga/pilates new year's resolution reject dvds but I found this handmade dress instead. I HAD to break my rule. I want to wear this dress day and night. I love the colours, the print, the style, the not-so-even hemline. I couldn't live without it! When I put it on it fit to a tee and even made my boobs look small (no easy feat)! For $5 I couldn't say no. You can't put a price on love, right?!

So I thought I'd bring out my now second prized-possession to pair with it. My favourite suitcase. I transformed it way way way back in this post. I feel like running away to a warmer climate where I can frolic in my new dress everyday...

oh, and we had a wonderful sunrise this morning.

Door 21

Kudos to you bloggers who take indoor photos. The amount of fiddling with the settings is out of control! By the time I had a moment to take photos this weekend the sun had gone down. Thus I tried the indoor photo.
For those of you who don't know I have to wear a uniform to work. A gross blue shirt and steel toed boots. I have to wear pants so it's jeans...every...single...day. Needless to say this is why I usually make the most of my days off with dresses or skirts. This outfit is what I am wearing to work today. When I arrive I will have to change my boots and shirt so essentially I dress up for my drive to and from! Oh well. This is part of the reason why I don't really want to do the 30 for 30 challenge. I love the idea and would love to do it one day but at this point I really look forward to my days off so I can play dress up...

An Introduction.

I've never been much of a writer. I've never had a journal where I kept my thoughts but I've always had a  visual journal. Notebooks of lined paper hidden under glued pictures from magazines, books, fabric, anything I liked. When I went to Europe I was encouraged to write in a travel journal everyday. The day's descriptions where never more then a sentence or two. Shoved in the pages, however, were TONS of brochures, pictures, papers, ticket stubs, cutouts, etc. I thought I'd let you into my private journal collection. Maybe you'll gather some inspiration from them like I do.

Sky Gazing

So the other day I was driving to work and I took (yet another) picture of the sunrise. If you look at the pictures in my phone its about 95% full of pictures of the sunny, cloudy, overcast, hazy days that I have experienced. I thought to myself, "Why do you keep taking these, you never look at them again." and then after a few hours of sitting at work twiddling my thumbs I started to draw a layout for a blog that holds all of my sky pictures. I realize this blog may be an interesting thing only to me and my sky picture obsession but  I thought why not keep them in one place where I can revisit and remember why and when I took them. So without further ado, I give you Sky Gazing: Brief Moments from Outside. So far I've really only put some retroactive sky pictures and I hope to just keep adding them! A little random but I am kinda excited about it! Maybe I lead a sad life....

A Quick Picnic

Since it's been so nice and warm I thought I'd shed my coat and tights and go for a tan. I know I wont be getting a tan anytime soon but it's nice to pretend sometimes. I'm starting a random side project blog. It will have nothing to do with my closet and might be one of those "interesting only to the person who made it" kind of things but oh well! Ill show you guys soon! Have a good weekend!

On my way to check the mail.

The last few days on my way to work I have witnessed the best sunrises! I was a little annoyed that I had to go to work instead of enjoying these. So this morning I got up a little early, threw on some clothes, and went out for a drive to grab some pictures of the sun (and check the mail). It is also GORGEOUSLY warm out today! I may just spend all day outside!

I also encountered my first person while taking pictures of myself. I didn't see him coming until he was right beside me but he just smiled and waved. Phew. No weird questions! I'm not allowed to talk to strangers anyway....
